The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made significant strides in shaping its roster for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, unveiling its second list of candidates. In a strategic move, the party has strategically positioned notable figures to spearhead its campaign across various constituencies.
Among the prominent figures featured in the second list are Anurag Thakur, Manohar Lal Khattar, Basavaraj Bommai, Piyush Goyal, and Anil Baluni. Anurag Thakur, known for his vocal presence as the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, will be vying for the Hamirpur seat in Himachal Pradesh.
Manohar Lal Khattar, the former chief minister of Haryana, has emerged as a candidate of significance, amplifying the party’s appeal in the region.
Basavaraj Bommai, a former chief minister of Karnataka, has been strategically placed to contest from Haveri, bolstering the BJP’s stronghold in the state. Piyush Goyal, a prominent Union Minister, has been nominated to represent the party’s interests in the upcoming polls, lending his seasoned expertise to the electoral fray.
Additionally, Tejaswi Surya, the dynamic chief of the party’s youth wing, has been entrusted with the responsibility to contest from Bangalore South, showcasing the BJP’s commitment to fostering young leadership within its ranks. Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, is slated to contest from Nagpur, a testament to his unwavering commitment to serving the people of his constituency. Similarly, Pralhad Joshi, another Union Minister, is set to vie for the Dharwad seat in Karnataka, reflecting the party’s concerted efforts to maintain its political stronghold in key regions.
The BJP’s decision to field new candidates in Delhi, namely Harsh Malhotra and Yogendra Chandolia, underscores its adaptability and willingness to embrace fresh faces to navigate the complex political landscape of the national capital.
