Recognizing India as the “Honoured Country” at the 2026 Annual Armed Forces Day Military Ball,

The Consulate General of India, Houston, conveys its deep appreciation to the Houston Military Affairs Committee (HMAC) for recognizing India as the “Honoured Country” at the 2026 Annual Armed Forces Day Military Ball, held annually to honor the military and veteran community, on 16 May 2026 at the Houston Marriott Westchase.

The Consulate expresses its sincere thanks to Commander Eugene N. Tulich, Chairman, HMAC, and Captain Nicole Rodriguez, United States Coast Guard, for their leadership and coordination.

The Consulate acknowledges the United States Coast Guard for assuming the chairmanship of the 2026 Military Ball and for its exemplary organization of this year’s event.

The Consulate also conveys its appreciation to Congressman Randy Weber for his impactful and thoughtful address, which added great value to the occasion.

The Consulate acknowledges the support extended by “I Am For Heroes” and #USISPF, whose partnership contributed significantly to the success of the Ball.

Representing India, the Consul General D C Manjunath delivered the keynote address, highlighting the strength and depth of the India–United States strategic partnership, founded on shared democratic values, mutual trust, and a common commitment to global peace, stability, and prosperity. He underscored that India and the United States are partners by choice, not by chance, and emphasized the expanding cooperation across defence, maritime security, emerging technologies, and people to people linkages. CG highlighted the range of security cooperation under existing Major Defence Partner(MDP) relationship and advocated for strengthening the relationship.

The Consulate reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the bonds between the two nations and to deepening collaboration with the U.S. Armed Forces community.
