Agasthiyar Kalai Mandram (AKM) successfully hosted its second annual Aadi Mahotsavam on August 10th in Plano, Texas,
celebrating the vibrant spirit of four major festivals: Aadi Perukku, Indian Independence Day, Krishna Janmashtami, and Ganesh Chaturthi.
A Cultural Extravaganza The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 1,200 attendees, making it one of the most well-attended
Tamil cultural gatherings in the region. More than 30 local performance groups showcased a rich tapestry of Indian art forms, including:
– Folk Dance, Bharatantyam, Stage Play and Cultural performances by local talent representing diverse tradtions
– Dhol Tasha & Lavani Dance from Marathi community
– Chenda Melam led by Guru Siva Das from the renowned Guruvayoorappan Temple
Festive Attractions The celebration featured a lively Aadi Shopping Mela, offering traditional crafts, apparel, and festive goods.
Attendees also enjoyed a delicious array of authentic Indian cuisine served by popular local restaurants and food vendors.
